Stijn Verhoeff studied Fine Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and gained a Masters Degree in Documentary Film at Brunel University in London. He combines documentaries and art in film, photography and books. Lapon dune Renne Voyages into the Arctic Regions addresses the alterations that occur in the digitisation process. Using some hundred e-books, Verhoeff sheds new light on the history of the Arctic. It is the outcome of an exploration of the archives of the Internet and calls into question, in a poetic manner, the digitisation of knowledge. However, quite often in this process things go images fade, colours appear, scribbled, marginal notes become part of the original.
