Mehr zum Buch
The Goethe Yearbook 2006 documents outstanding contributions from the symposium of young Goethe researchers held in 2005 in Weimar. It includes essays on the reception of Goethe's works in contemporary times and examines the reception of contemporary works through the example of Walter Scott. Another contribution addresses the theme "Goethe's Skeleton - Goethe's Form." Additionally, it presents previously unpublished letters from the physicist and mathematician Johann Gottfried Steinhäuser the Younger (1768-1825) to Goethe. The yearbook also gathers reviews of important new publications on Goethe's life and work, as well as a Goethe bibliography for the year 2005. Finally, it provides a detailed report on the activities of the Goethe Society, founded in 1885, which currently has 3,500 members in 55 countries.
