The main collections of the Pinacoteca di Brera, the main public gallery for paintings in Milan. It was founded by the Accademia di Brera or Brera Academy in 1776 is a library of materials for its students. It contained castes, drawings, prints, cartoons and a few small, identified paintings which were used as models by the teachers and students.This book has a preface by Carlo Bertelli. It has over 80 pages of color prints and an index. Each print has a short annotation with background about each painting.
