In Crozet, Virginia, a series of mysterious deaths disrupts the Christmas season, prompting Mary Minor "Harry" Harristeen and her beloved pets to assist the police in this holiday mystery. With Christmas approaching, Harry's schedule is packed with delivering holiday baskets, selecting the perfect tree with her friend Susan Tucker, and searching for a special gift for her husband, Fair. She also enrolls her Irish Wolfhound puppy, Pirate, in dog showing classes, adding to the festive spirit. However, the holiday cheer is overshadowed when Harry's police friend, Cynthia Cooper, warns of a potential increase in crime during the season. Tragically, Harry and Susan stumble upon a man's body by the roadside, and when two more unidentified bodies are discovered, Harry realizes something sinister is happening. Autopsies reveal a deadly drug present in all three victims. Determined to uncover the truth, Harry, alongside her feline companions Mrs. Murphy and Pewter, and her corgi Tee Tucker, embarks on a quest to solve the mystery and ensure a merry Christmas for the community.
