Mehr zum Buch

The Mahámudrá is the Mahayana meditation system on the nature of the mind that presents a complete path to attain Enlightenment. This teaching was imparted by Buddha manifesting as Vajradhara, and from there the lineage was transmitted, first in India, from Tilopa to Naropa and from him to Marpa, and then in Tibet to Milarepa and Gampopa. The specific lineage in this text is the Karma Kagyu transmitted by Gampopa to the first Karmapa, continuing through successive Gurus to the present day. This text is one of the most well-known expositions of this system and covers both the preliminary practices and the Mahámudrá meditations related to samata, or mental quiescence, and vipasana, the spontaneous meditative clarity.
