This cased volume contains more than a hundred sensitive colour photographs which convey the changing ambience as well as the architecture and artifacts of the Forbidden City (Palace Museum). From 1420-1911, the Forbidden City was the administrative and cultural nerve centre of the feudal Ming and Qing dynasties. The text includes accounts of historical events and Court procedures, anecdotes and poems.
