This is the complete Catalogue of the Venice Biennale 2007. This major event in the art world calendar will attract much media attention. The Venice Biennale is the most important contemporary art exhibition in the world. More than 100 countries will participate with exhibitions staged in numerous dramatic pavilions, and hundreds of artists have been invited to represent their respective countries, including Tracey Emin, Sophie Calle, Gerhard Richter, Joseph Beuys, and many others. One pavilion will be devoted to work that endeavours to represent the thousand contemporary Africas through the voices and work of their artists. Turkey and India will participate for the first time in the more than 100 such exhibitions that have grown out of the model first established in 1895. The Biennale will excite the world of art for months with its vibrancy, colour, and sheer extravagance, and the catalogue will preserve the invention, creativity and talent of all the participating artists.
