The 400 photographs in this book are the finest of the 90,000 pictures taken and they reveal a complex and multi-faceted Philippine landscape. Catholic churches full of people strong in their faith; huge ranges of rice terraces farmed by people whose traditions have held firm over thousands of years; perfect white beaches fringed with coral reefs; and volcanoes that still rumble underfoot. But the Philippines is more than these landscapes and these histories. The Philippines also boasts cities of towering skyscrapers, factories which produce some of the most sophisticated electronics in the world, and an economy developing so rapidly that it will soon take its place in the forefront of business life within the Southeast Asian region.
