Die vorliegende Auflage ist die Übersetzung der 7. englischsprachigen Auflage "Lonely Planet Istanbul" (Stand Februar 2013). Elke Nibbrig schrieb zur 1. deutschen Ausgabe (BA 12/08): "Faktenreich, interessant und locker geschrieben in der reihenüblichen, handbuchartigen Aufmachung mit Detailplänen ... ".
