    • What would it mean for choreography to function as an exhibition? This question drives Work/Travail/Arbeid, a project by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. The renowned Belgian dancer-choreographer reimagines her stage piece Vortex Temporum, set to the music of Gérard Grisey, for the unique conditions of an art space. Instead of merely relocating a dance performance, De Keersmaeker transforms the choreography into a nine-week-long exhibition, altering the fundamental materials and conditions essential to dance. This project showcases the intricate conceptual, technical, and physical labor that underpins her work. The multi-volume boxed catalogue is designed to accompany the exhibition and document its progression. The first set introduces Work/Travail/Arbeid, detailing its preparations and ties to Vortex Temporum. After the exhibition, the second set reflects on its development. The catalogue features a re-edition of De Keersmaeker's original Vortex Temporum program book, photographic documentation by Babette Mangolte and Anne Van Aerschot, drawings by De Keersmaeker, and newly commissioned essays by notable writers including Douglas Crimp and Elena Filipovic. The exhibition took place at Wiels in Brussels, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and Tate in London.
