This version of Kaija Saariaho's Tocar was written for Camilla Hoitenga (Flute) and Heloise Dautry (Harp), who gave the first performance on 14 February 2014 in Clermont-Ferrand at La Comedie de Clermont. The original version of Tocar for Violin and Piano (CH76703) was commissioned by the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition of the Sibelius Society and Sibelius Academy as a test piece for the 2010 competition.

The book explores the innovative work of Kaija Saariaho, a prominent Finnish composer renowned for her integration of electronics in music. Inspired during the creation of the ballet Maa, Saariaho aimed to push the boundaries of flute techniques that had captivated her for years. NoaNoa represents a collaborative effort, with intricate flute passages crafted alongside Camilla Hoitenga, while the electronic components were developed with Jean-Baptiste Barriere and programmer Xavier Chabot, showcasing a blend of traditional and modern elements.
