Tato kniha slavného autora je trochu jiná: je sestavená jako abecední výkladový slovník z oboru metafyziky. Význam vybraných okultních slov a pojmů vysvětluje způsobem,který je nám - lidem ze Západu - blízký a srozumitelný.Rampa píše srozumitelně a jednoduše,ale i vtipně a místy se svým typickým sarkasmem. V závěru se nacházejí dodatky: podrobnější pojednání o dýchání (včetně návodu na jeho správné provádění), o kamenech (abecední seznam drahých kamenů a jejich významu), o výživě (Lobsang není zastáncem vegetariánství) a o cvičení (kde se hlavně vysvětlují důvody, proč necvičit).

Další část z cyklu o tibetském lámovi zachycuje situaci, kdy byl jako dítě předurčen k zasvěcení do tajných duchovních věd. Proto je šokovaný, když zjistí, že tělesná smrt nebyla koncem jeho existence. V nehmotné dimenzi potkává i jiné osoby, které mu vysvětlují vše podstatné o lidském životě a vědomí. Poté je připraven vrátit se na Zemi znovu a tentokrát prožít lepší život. Druhá část knihy vypráví příběh dvou jiných mužů: syna a otce, úspěšných velkopodnikatelů. Oba zemřou na infarkt.
