Jérôme Soligny Bücher

For nearly a quarter of a century, as a music journalist, Jérôme Soligny wrote about David Bowie and regularly interacted with him. In the spring of 2016, a few weeks after his death, he undertook an original and significant task: to recount Bowie, the musician, his recordings, and his tours, with the help of those who contributed to the building of his work. Including rock stars who had already spoken to him about this extraordinary artist—whose statements he has gathered here—nearly three hundred people (producers, instrumentalists, sound engineers, as well as designers, photographers, and musicians who influenced him or whom he influenced) speak in Rainbowman. They help to paint a portrait that is not in line with the idea that the media and the public have had of David Bowie for decades, but rather true to the man of words and music, the music lover who humbly claimed to be until the end of his life.
