Peter Lamarque ist Professor für Philosophie an der University of York. Er trat 2000 in die Abteilung für Philosophie ein. Er war Dozent und dann Senior Lecturer an der University of Stirling zwischen 1972 und 1995. Von 1995 bis 2008 war er Herausgeber des British Journal of Aesthetics.
