Emily Voleová je trochu smutná, protože její první prázdniny se chýlí ke konci. Naštěstí je na obzoru vždycky nějaká záhada. Po městě běhá veliký fi alový králík, někdo ukradl strašidelné kuřecí nohy a nerudný smeták se stal vůdcem zločinecké bandy. Netrvá dlouho a vílí detektivové mají opět plné ruce práce. Podivuhodné zločiny navíc nejsou to jediné, co jim dělá starosti. Do jejich domku na gryfích nožkách totiž dorazila nevítaná návštěva, kouzelná lampa odjela dělat kariéru u divadla a detektiv Cardwell ze Scotland Yardu se nešťastně zamiloval… Emiliy s Busterem a kocourem Šídlem musí opět předvést, co dokážou.
Tato kniha je přirozeným pokračováním publikace Svatá země včera a dnes. Soustřeďuje litografie Davida Robertse, uznávaného anglického krajináře 19. století, které byly zveřejněny v roce 1846 v Londýně. Strhující obrazy jsou poprvé shromážděny v chronologickém pořadí, opatřeny komentářem a citacemi Robertsových zápisků. Většinu ilustrací doprovázejí fotografie, které Antonio Attini vždycky podřídil stejnému tématu a místu, jež si jako umělecké motivy vybral Roberts před více než 160 lety při své cestě po Egyptě. Vzniklo tak umělecké dílo, jaké ještě o Egyptě nebylo publikováno.
Další knížka z oblíbené série pro čtenáře od šesti do devíti let. Opět jsou v ní tři příběhy malého školáka Bertíka, který se doma i ve škole neustále dostává do nějakých potíží. Při četbě zažijete spoustu legrace a pobaví vás i opravdu povedené obrázky.
David Roberts byl jedním z nejproslulejších anglických krajinářů 19. století. V roce 1839 podnikl dobrodružnou cestu, která jej přes Sinajský poloostrov dovedla do Petry, Jeruzaléma a Palestiny a podél libanonského pobřeží nakonec až do tajemného Baalbeku. Litografie, které pak na základě kreseb pořizovaných během své pozoruhodné cesty do Svaté země vytvořil, mu zajistily slávu, trvající až do našeho věku. Tato kniha Robertsovy litografie vůbec poprvé řadí chronologicky, přináší je s komentářem v doprovodu fotografií zachycujících stejný motiv a záběr o jedno a půl století později. Čtenář prožije spolu s vynikajícím umělcem strhující objevitelskou cestu k počátkům civilizace a kultury.
