Die Graphic Novel Čáslavská erzählt von dem Leben der berühmten tschechischen Kunstturnerin Věra Čáslavská. Jan Novak (Text) und Jaromir 99 (Zeichnungen) haben ihr Leben auf 176 Seiten umgesetzt. Sie war eine außergewöhnliche Frau, die bei Olympischen Spielen insgesamt sieben Gold- und vier Silbermedaillen gewann. Sie war eine Frau, die sich nicht verbiegen ließ und für ihre Überzeugung kämpfte. Sie weigerte sich, ihre Unterschrift unter dem Manifest der 2000 Worte zurückzunehmen, in dem politische Reformen angemahnt wurden. Zur Strafe musste sie als Putzfrau arbeiten. Nach dem Ende des Kommunismus im November 1989 wurde sie rehabilitiert und von Präsident Václav Havel als Beraterin eingestellt, 1996 wurde sie zur Präsidentin des Nationalen Olympischen Komitees gewählt. Sie starb im August 2016 an einer Krebserkrankung. Dieser Band würdigt diese Frau, die sich nicht unterkriegen ließ.
