In den zwei Jahrzehnten bis zu seinem Tod entsteht ein Landschaftswerk, das zu den grossen originalen Leistungen der modernen europäischen Malerei zählt. Das Buch erschien erstmals 2003 zur Ausstellung im Kunsthaus Zürich.
