Když Marc Seifer psal v roce 1996 knihu Nikola Tesla: vizionář – génius – čaroděj (Triton, 2007), snažil se odhalit fakta o Teslově roli ve vývoji četných vynálezů (zejména vynálezu indukčního motoru, vícefázového systému střídavého proudu, dálkového ovládání, robotiky a bezdrátové komunikace), neboť se v tomto ohledu šířila spousta mylných informací. Dokonce ještě dodnes přetrvává mýtus o tom, že Tesla nebyl schopen porozumět Maxwellovým rovnicím popisujícím elektromagnetické pole, přestože jeho zápisníky, jako např. Colorado Springs Notes 1899–1900 , jsou plné neuvěřitelně složitých rovnic. Od chvíle, kdy Marc Seifer ve své knize uvedl Teslův životopis přísně chronologicky a ocitoval všechny prameny, se mylné informace o tomto vynálezci začínají vytrácet.
