A queer coming-of-age story follows a grieving teen whose plans to escape to Australia are interrupted by community service. Eighteen-year-old Aaron, haunted by the car crash that killed his family, is determined to find a fresh start inspired by his late sister's dream of working in a wildlife park. Just before his departure, he is arrested for possession of weed at a party and sentenced to clean a neglected local retirement center, forcing him to confront the city he longs to leave. At the center, he encounters a diverse group of misfits, including Landon, a fellow young offender known for his troublemaking. As Aaron spends time with this group, especially Landon, he begins to feel a sense of belonging he never anticipated. Beneath Landon's tough exterior, Aaron finds a kindred spirit who sees beyond his scars. Their late-night conversations spark a connection that leads Aaron to recognize his attraction to Landon and embrace his demisexuality. However, as Landon's difficult past resurfaces, it threatens their budding relationship. Torn between honoring his sister's memory and his feelings for Landon, Aaron must decide where his true "Neverland" lies: in Australia or right where he is.
