      The late Captain Frank H Hawkins FRAes, M Phil, served as a Human Factors Consultant to KLM, where he flew for over 30 years as a line captain and R&D pilot, contributing to the design of flight decks for all KLM aircraft from the Viscount to the Boeing 747. His expertise in Human Factors stemmed from recognizing a critical lack of knowledge in the field, prompting him to establish an annual course on Human Factors in Transport Aircraft Operation at Loughborough and Aston Universities, along with the KLM Human Factors Awareness Course (KHUFAC). He was a consultant member of the SAE S-7 committee, a member of the Human Factors Society, and a Liveryman of the Guild of Air Pilots. Notably, he was a keynote speaker at the ICAO Human Factors Seminar in St Petersburg, Russia, in April 1990. The late Captain Harry W Orlady was an Aviation Human Factors Consultant and former Senior Research Scientist for the Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS). His experience included work with NASA/Ames, private research firms, and the FAA during the certification of the Boeing 747-400 and McDonnell-Douglas MK-11. As a pilot with United Airlines, he flew various aircraft, including the DC-3 and Boeing 747. He conducted extensive research in ground and flight training, Human Factors, and aviation safety, earning several awards and presenting nearly 100 papers or lectures.
