This book stems from a research project by the GRETEL group at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) focused on digital literary education for children and adolescents. It presents findings from this project alongside contributions from esteemed authors, addressing three core aspects: the texts themselves, the responses elicited in young readers, and the digital reading practices both at home and in schools. The work aims to enhance international research on digital literature for young audiences and its influence on literary education practices. It seeks to guide the integration of digital literary training in classrooms and explore strategies for engaging with multimedia, interactive, and hypertextual content prevalent in contemporary fiction. The volume begins by situating electronic literary reading within a new research framework for children and adolescents. It examines the interplay between the electronic medium and the production for young audiences, as well as the characteristics of digital works, reflecting on their educational potential. It also investigates how children and adolescents interact with digital literature when it is presented alongside traditional print literature. The book concludes with insights from two prominent creators in the field.
