Amsterdam's Eastern Harbor District consists of a number of artificial peninsulas constructed around 1900. When the once-flourishing port lost its function, the decision was made to turn the district into a prominent residential area. The transformation, which began in the 1970s, is now complete. Diverse urban plans were devised for the various sections of the district. Virtually every Dutch architect of standing and renown contributed to the architectural realization of these plans, making the Eastern Harbor District not only a pleasant and highly sought-after residential area, but also a true sampling of the Dutch housing construction of recent decades. Featuring work by UN Studio, West 8 and many others, this volume provides a complete overview of the urban planning and architecture of the District, supplemented by thematic essays. It is a significant reference work on this exceptional residential project, as well as a thorough overview of 20 years of Dutch architecture and urban planning at the highest level.

Once again the highly successful "Architecture in the Netherlands" presents a selection of the most noteworthy recent architectural works in the Netherlands. The 1999-2000 edition features works by architects such as Wiel Arets, Benthem Crouwel, Wim van den Bergh and Ger Widdershoven, Bolles & Wilson, Bosch Haslett, DVK Architekten, Erick van Egeraat, Architectuurstudio Hertzberger, Teun Koolhaas, Kother en Salman, Neutelings Riedijk Architecten, Michiel Snelder, and UN Studio. In addition to the selected projects, all abundantly documented in text and images, there are thought-provoking essays on recent architectural trends by the yearbook's editors*Bart Loomsa analyzes the current large-scale interventions in major Dutch railway stations, Ton Verstegen reflects on the events leading up to the Fifth Report on Spatial Planning, and Hans Ibelings (noted author of numerous architecture/design books, including Supermodernism) describes the various manifestations of new traditionalism in Dutch architecture.

The architecture and architectural culture of the Netherlands have been experiencing a remarkable surge, with many new buildings and projects showcasing the current flourishing in Dutch architecture, urban planning, and landscaping. Artificial Landscape illustrates the results of this late twentieth-century creativity and examines the background of its success, exploring the 'Dutch phenomenon' and its socio-historical context. It reveals that even in a period of globalization, there exists a distinct Dutch 'climate,' and despite its specific national character, there is much to learn from it, particularly regarding its unique synthesis of architecture, urbanism, and landscaping. This movement is represented by a selection of designs, built works, ideas, plans, and manifestoes from architects and firms such as OMA/Rem Koolhaas, Neutelings Riedijk, MVRDV, Maurice Nio, and Max 1. In addition to documenting the state of Dutch architecture, Artificial Landscape serves as a survey of contemporary architectural criticism, collecting significant critiques of Dutch architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture from recent years.

Výstava „Estetika udržitelné architektury“ v Galerii Jaroslava Fragnera (Praha 2020) se zaměřuje na vývoj udržitelnosti od roku 2008, kdy proběhla podobná výstava „Zelená architektura.CZ“. Prezentuje více než 60 příkladů českých i zahraničních realizací, které pokrývají různé kategorie, jako jsou individuální a hromadné bydlení, školní, komerční a průmyslové budovy, veřejné prostory, krajinářské návrhy, nové využití brownfieldů a velké urbanistické celky. Cílem je ukázat, že principy udržitelnosti mohou být součástí architektonického díla bez ztráty estetických kvalit. Úvodní teoretické studie se zabývají různými aspekty udržitelnosti. Petr Kratochvíl zkoumá, zda je udržitelnost specifickým rysem architektury, nebo základní podmínkou dobrého designu. Hans Ibelings volá po nové interpretaci architektury, která zohledňuje historické reakce na negativní environmentální dopady. Jana Tywoniak shrnuje technická řešení a politické dokumenty EU, které by měly podpořit pozitivní změny. Petra Kroppa se věnuje systémům veřejné dopravy šetrným k životnímu prostředí, čerpajíc ze zkušeností z Nizozemska. Dan Merta rekapituluje předchozí výstavy v Galerii Jaroslava Fragnera, které reflektovaly témata udržitelné architektury a představuje významné realizace a tvůrce.
