This volume contains Tristan Tzara's famous manifestos, which first appeared between 1916 and 1921 and became essential texts of the modern movement and models for Breton's Surrealist manifestos. Art for Tzara was both deadly serious and a game, and the playfulness of his character is apparent not only in his polemic, which often uses dadaist typography, but in the delightful drawings contributed by Francis Picabia. In addition, this volume also contains Tzara's Lampisteries - articles that throw light on various art forms contemporary with his own work, at a time when art, weary of the old certainties, turned into subjective and often abstract forms, favouring the reality of the mind over that of the senses.

Kniha je rozsáhlým, více než třistastránkovým výborem z celoživotní tvorby známého francouzského autora rumunského původu, jednoho z tvůrců dadaismu – Tristana Tzary. Svazek obsahuje texty od knihy První nebeské dobrodružství pana Antipyrina (Curych 1916) až po soubor Právě nyní (Paříž 1961), včetně nejdůležitějších manifestů dada z klíčové publikace Sedm manifestů dada (Paříž 1924). Překlad je dílem básníka, prozaika, překladatele, člena legendární surrealistické Skupiny Ra Zdeňka Lorence, který se věnoval Tzarově tvorbě od konce 30. let až do své smrti v roce 1999. Svazek podstatně rozšiřuje dosud poslední česky vydaný výbor Tzarových textů Paměť člověka, od jehož vydání uplynulo již 41 let. Knihu graficky upravil David Pohribný, je vybavena obrazovou přílohou, rozsáhlou studií Zdeňka Lorence o Tzarově životě a díle i bibliografií hlavních Tzarových děl, kterou sestavil editor svazku Michal Bauer.
