Bouřlivý mrzout a snaživá "slušňačka" ve svěží romantické komedii na prknech, která znamenají svět. Mohla by taková napohled nereálná láska být skutečná nebo to na nás talentovaní herci prostě jen hrají? Lainie a Richard spolu hrají v jednom slavném, ale chátrajícím divadle a Richard má problémy s výbušností jak v práci, tak na veřejnosti. Divadelní PR oddělení tedy přijde s plánem, že Richard a Lainie (kteří se navzájem nesnáší) spolu budou naoko chodit, to přitáhne pozornost médií, do divadla bude chodit víc lidí a Richard bude vnímán veřejností lépe.
