Leslie Aaron Fiedler war ein amerikanischer Literaturkritiker, der für sein Interesse an Mythografie und die Förderung von Genreliteratur bekannt war. Seine Arbeit befasste sich auch mit der Anwendung psychologischer Theorien auf die amerikanische Literatur. Praktisch war er einer der frühen postmodernen Kritiker, der sich ab etwa 1970 generell mit Literatur beschäftigte. Seine einflussreiche Kritik erforschte tiefere symbolische Schichten und psychologische Motivationen innerhalb amerikanischer literarischer Werke und bot den Lesern neue Perspektiven, wodurch er einen frühen postmodernen Ansatz definierte.
