Tui De Roy's journey began in 1955 when her family left Europe for a self-sufficient life on Galapagos. Growing up on the islands, she developed a passion for photography, capturing the beauty of her surroundings while scaling volcanoes, diving with hammerhead sharks, and observing Darwin's finches.
