The Bay City Rollers are a pop band from Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, which experienced massive popularity during the mid 1970s. The British Hit Singles & Albums observed that they were "tartan teen sensations from Edinburgh, the first of many acts heralded as the 'biggest group since the Beatles' and one of the most screamed-at teeny-bopper acts of the 1970s". For a brief, but intense period of "Rollermania", they were worldwide teen idols. The Bay City Rollers sold 120 million records. The band's membership changed many times over the years, but the classic line-up during its heyday included guitarists Eric Faulkner and Stuart John "Woody" Wood, singer Les McKeown, bassist Alan Longmuir, and drummer Derek Longmuir. By 2018 the group comprised guitarist Stuart John Wood (Woody), singer Ian Thomson, bassist Marcus Cordock, keyboardist Gary O'Hagan and drummer Jamie McGrory.
