Mehr zum Buch
The book explores how Lope de Vega’s national history plays utilized landscapes and historical settings to reflect and legitimize Spain's imperial ambitions. It argues that these theatrical works not only depicted the past but also served as a means to project and justify Spain’s expansionist endeavors over time, effectively mapping the trajectory of its empire through dramatic narratives.
