This richly illustrated publication commemorates the 655th anniversary of the founding of New Town in Prague. The text is divided into three parts: the first focuses on the origins and construction of New Town, while the second details the history and reconstruction of the Jindřišská Tower. The final section documents 120 towers in Prague through brief descriptions and photographs. The first part also explores the history of Prague's bells and bell towers, as well as natural disasters that have affected the city. The second part narrates the development of the Jindřišská Tower as a Renaissance bell tower, its reconstruction in the late 19th century, and its latest renovations following its reopening in 2002. The third part covers towers within a three-kilometer radius from the Jindřišská Tower, including church, fortification, waterworks, bridge, observation, bell tower, and public building towers. Each tower is presented with color photographs and essential information about its builder, period of construction, and height.
