Study of the purification performance of anaerobic basins at the Oujda WWTP

The study focuses on evaluating the treatment quality of wastewater at the Oujda WWTP, specifically analyzing the effectiveness of anaerobic basins in removing organic pollutants and pathogens. Through physico-chemical analysis and fecal contamination indicators at seven sampling points, the research demonstrates significant reductions in BOD, COD, and TSS, meeting established standards. The anaerobic tanks exhibit a purification efficiency of 49% for suspended solids and 30% for biochemical oxygen demand and chemical oxygen demand, highlighting their role in wastewater management.
