Čtvrtou a prozatím poslední knihou edice ilustrovaný Český Laozi/Lao-c´, která představila velké české překlady Tao te ťingu, je původní překlad Rudolfa Dvořáka z roku 1920, s výtvarným doprovodem Krištofa Kintery. Tao–tek–king/Lao-tsiova kanonická kniha o Tau a ctnosti byla vydána u příležitosti Kinterovy výstavy Neuropolis uspořádané v Galerii Zdeněk Sklenář – Schönkirchovský palác v Praze ve dnech 25. 8. – 7. 11. 2020. Všech tisíc exemplářů obsahuje na obálce originální vstup Krištofa Kintery. Kniha je věnována profesoru Oldřichu Královi (1930–2018), který edici řídil a 13. září 2020 by oslavil devadesáté narozeniny. Výtvarné zpracování vychází z bibliofilie TAO, kterou v roce 2015 vydala Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář v počtu šedesáti čtyř exemplářů, z nichž každý obsahuje originální výtvarné vstupy Krištofa Kintery.

Tao te-ťing shrnuje učení Starého mistra, učí filozofii života, tak jak ji vnímali staří Číňané. Lao-c´ chtěl odjet z císařského dvora a uchýlit se do ústraní. Na hranicích ho však zastavil strážný, který Mistra poznal a nedovolil mu odejít dřív, než mu sepíše všechno své učení. Jakmile Lao-c´ sepsal své myšlenky, odjel na volu z města a už ho nikdy nikdo neviděl. Kniha Tao te-ťing představuje jednu ze základních knih světa a hlavní zdroj čínského malířství a poezie. V roce 1973 byly v hrobce Ma-wang-tuej odkryty na hedvábných svitcích nejstarší známé texty knihy, ale ke skutečné senzaci došlo až před několika lety, kdy v jiné hrobce Kuotien byl vykopán text Taa z roku 350 před Kristem. Nález má stejný význam, jako měly kumránské svitky pro biblická studia. Tento překlad se vrací ke starému, syrovému Tau. Je silné, archaické a podivné. Každá kapitola knihy je doprovázena stručným komentářem literáta Wang-Piho ze 3. století po Kristu. Sbírka vychází v překladu Václava Cílka.

Hlavním pojmem je tu Tao, což je všechno a nic, veškeré jsoucno i veškeré nejsoucno, které je nedefinovatelné a neuchopitelné a neskonale vznešené. Nevíme, kdo první vyslovil myšlenku, že Tao je nic ve všem a všechno v ničem a proto taoismus, který se v průběhu staletí zformoval do náboženství, je vlastně náboženstvím bez Boha. Tento způsob myšlení arciť vyhovuje tupým ateistům, kterým bezbožnost nebo přesněji bez-božnost taoismu hraje do karet, protože dokazuje, že náboženství se bez Boha vlastně velmi dobře objede. Všechno je ale jinak. Pokud si našeho křesťanského Boha nepředstavujeme jako stařečka, plujícího na obláčku a víceméně libovolně zasahujícího svou všemohoucností do veškerého dění ve Vesmíru, nemůžeme přehlédnout výraznou shodu mezi definicemi Tao a definicemi boha jako Absolutna. Je skutečně na pováženou, proč dosud žádný z překladů, respektive převodů nenabídl svým čtenářům jednoduchou rovnici Tao = Bůh a vysvětlení, proč tomu tak je a jinak nemůže být. Eklektický převod Jos. A. Zentricha na tuto možnost, respektive na tuto Pravdu poukazuje a nabízí českému, potažmo evropskému křesťanskému čtenáři porovnání staročínského náboženského myšlení s evropským moderním myšlením a ukazuje na jednotu zdrojů, ze kterých čínské i evropské myšlení vycházejí...
