In an unnamed part of the Pacific Northwest, a speculative thriller unfolds, exploring a secret world and the end of all things. Although Jane has never met Silvina, her decision to take the items triggers uncontrollable events. Set against a backdrop of severe global warming and instability caused by predatory government actions and an intrusive security state, Jane grapples with the question, "Why me?" This haunting inquiry disrupts her life, leading her to confront the precariousness of her existence.
