Empty Vows

Set in the Deep South during the Depression era, the story follows Jessie Tucker, a kind-hearted widow eager to win the affections of recently bereaved Hubert Wiggins. As she concocts a plan to capture his heart, Hubert harbors his own hidden desires, complicating their relationship. When Jessie finds herself drawn to younger Conway, she faces rivalry from Blondeen, who seeks to ruin her. As their tangled web of deceit unravels, each character must confront their secrets and the consequences of their actions in a dramatic climax.
