Das kanadische Künstlerpaar Janet Cardiff & Georges Bures Miller erzielt international große Erfolge mit seinen Klanginstallationen und Klangbildern. Eine ganze Reihe von gemeinsamen Werken von Cardiff (*1957 in Ontario) und Miller (*1960 in Alberta) wurden über einen Zeitraum von mehreren Jahren von Ingvild Goetz in ihre Sammlung integriert. Die Publikation zeigt sie erstmalig im Zusammenhang, erläutert Entstehung und Bezüge im Detail und macht ihre Bedeutung innerhalb des Gesamtwerks der beiden Künstler transparent. Dabei wird ein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf die zentrale Bedeutung von Sound und Klang gelegt sowie der spezielle Umgang von Janet Cardiff & Georges Bures Miller mit dieser so wichtigen und sonst meist nur unterschwellig wahrgenommen Ebene in der aktuellen Medienkunst herausgestellt.
