The book compiles annual letters and addresses from Miss Nightingale to the probationer-nurses of the Nightingale School at St. Thomas' Hospital between 1872 and 1900. These communications, often read by Sir Harry Ver-ney, were intended to inspire and guide the nurses in their training. Each nurse received a printed or facsimile copy for personal use, highlighting the importance of these messages. A few addresses were also created for Nightingale Nurses in Edinburgh, reflecting Miss Nightingale's commitment to nursing education and mentorship.
