Focusing on the impact of the digital revolution, this dissertation explores how the Internet and social media influence human rights, freedom of expression, and state politics in various governance systems. It begins with an analysis of the evolving propaganda model in the context of new technologies and examines case studies demonstrating the dual nature of the Internet as a tool for peace or conflict. A specific case study on China highlights the government's mechanisms to restrict freedom of expression while addressing its obligations to uphold these rights.
