Das Buch stellt den Gewinner, die Finalisten und die Nominierten des Wettbewerbs umfassend anhand von Fotos, Zeichnungen und Texten vor. Der diesjährige Preisträger Torre Reforma von L. Benjamín Romano in Mexiko-Stadt besticht unter anderem durch sein kluges Tragwerkskonzept, das der vorherrschenden Erdbebengefahr begegnet und dem 246 Meter hohen Turm zudem sein skulpturales Erscheinungsbild verleiht. Vergeben wird der Internationale Hochhaus Preis alle zwei Jahre vom Deutschen Architekturmuseum, der DekaBank und der Stadt Frankfurt. Die bisherigen Gewinner waren dabei u. a. BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, Stefano Boeri, ingenhoven architects, WOHA oder Foster and Partners.
