Der Band zeigt zudem prachtvoll Rembrandts radikalen Wandel von kleinen, präzis gemalten Bildern der Leidener Frühzeit zu großen mit Licht und Schatten spielenden Leinwandbildern der Amsterdamer Zeit auf.
