Zentrale Aspekte sind die Analyse sozioökonomischer Faktoren, die Ermittlung spezifischer Bedürfnisse sowie die Evaluation relevanter Programme der Organisationen. Die Studie verfolgt das Ziel, die Effektivität dieser Programme zu bewerten und Verbesserungsvorschläge zu unterbreiten. Methodisch basiert die Forschung auf qualitativen Ansätzen, einschließlich Umfragen und naturalistischen Designs, und orientiert sich an der protestantischen Arbeitsethik sowie der personenzentrierten Beratungstheorie.

Focusing on the responses of Christian Faith Based Organizations (CFBOs) to the needs of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Kibera, this research explores socio-economic factors affecting their spiritual and psychosocial requirements. The study assesses the involvement and effectiveness of CFBO programs, aiming to determine their relevance and sustainability. Guided by protestant work ethic and person-centred counselling theories, the qualitative research employs survey and naturalistic designs to offer recommendations for enhancing these organizations' responses.

Este livro é o resultado de uma pesquisa levada a cabo pelo autor. O objectivo deste estudo foi examinar as respostas das Organizações Baseadas na Fé Cristã (CFBOs) às necessidades espirituais e psicossociais dos órfãos e crianças vulneráveis (OVC) em Kibera. O estudo foi orientado por seis objectivos e questões de investigação que examinar os factores socioeconómicos que influenciam as necessidades espirituais e psicossociais das OVC, estabelecer as necessidades espirituais e psicossociais das OVC, determinar se as CFBOs em Kibera estão empenhadas em responder às necessidades espirituais e psicossociais das OVC, examinar os programas CFBOs que respondem às necessidades das OVC, estabelecer se os programas CFBO eram relevantes, sustentáveis e abrangentes, e finalmente recomendar formas de reforçar as respostas de modo a torná-las mais eficazes. O estudo foi orientado pela teoria da ética do trabalho protestante e pela teoria do aconselhamento integrado centrado na pessoa. O estudo foi principalmente qualitativo. Utilizou estudos e desenhos de investigação naturalistas.
