Focusing on the impact of integrated vocabulary instruction, this research study investigates its effects on reading comprehension among A1 EFL learners in Ecuador. Participants engaged in eight reading lessons incorporating both traditional and integrated vocabulary methods, followed by comprehension tests. The study assessed vocabulary knowledge before and after the lessons, including retention through post-tests. Findings reveal that integrated vocabulary instruction significantly enhances reading comprehension and supports effective vocabulary learning and retention.
