This volume of the Heimskringla contains accounts of the lives of Norwegian kings from the late twelfth century, including Haakon IV, Guttorm I, Inge II, and many others. The saga provides insights into the political, social, and religious structures of medieval Norway.
Originally published in 1866, this book by Samuel Laing and Thomas Henry Huxley offers a detailed examination of prehistoric artifacts discovered in the Scottish county of Caithness, including stone tools and ancient burial sites. The authors also offer insights into the physical characteristics of the early inhabitants of the region based on skeletal remains.
