Polybios

    Polybius war ein griechischer Historiker der Hellenistischen Zeit, bekannt für sein Werk Die Historien. Seine Schriften decken detailliert den Zeitraum von 220–146 v. Chr. ab. Er ist auch berühmt für seine Ideen zur politischen Balance in der Regierung. Diese Ideen wurden später in Montesquieus Vom Geist der Gesetze und bei der Ausarbeitung der Verfassung der Vereinigten Staaten verwendet.
