Adolf Miethe (1862-1927) war ein Pionier im Bereich der Fototechnik, der bedeutende Leistungen im Bereich der Farbfotografie erbrachte. Im vorliegenden Werk stellt er die Dreifarbenfotografie vor, die als fotografisches Verfahren im beginnenden 20. Jahrhundert Fuß fasste und von Miethe mitbegründet wurde. Das sich bis dato stellende Problem der präzisen Abbildung von Mischfarben in der Natur sollte durch eine Kamera gelöst werden, die die drei Farbspektren separiert einfangen konnte.
