In the 1950s-1960s, Rock City Gardens of Lookout Mountain, Georgia (overlooking Chattanooga, Tennessee) was an innovatingly promoted national vacation spot. Along highways in fifteen different states, barns, sheds, garages, roadside stores, abandoned houses and even lone-standing silos enticed visitors to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to view seven states from the beautiful Rock City Gardens. This book is a history of Rock city and a photographic record of what these barns and other buildings with their advertisements looked like in the early 1990s.
