Dieser Sammelband widmet sich dem komplexen Zusammenhang zwischen Sprachhandeln und Fachunterricht aus interdisziplinärer Perspektive: Er bringt fachdidaktische sowie bildungs-, sprach- und kulturwissenschaftliche Ansätze miteinander in den Dialog, fragt nach Voraussetzungen und Effekten von sprachlicher Interaktion in Lehr- und Lernprozessen und identifiziert so unterschiedliche Dimensionen von Sprachsensibilität als Chance und Herausforderung im schulischen Kontext. Er beleuchtet zudem die nicht selten impliziten sprachlichen Anforderungen des Fachunterrichts sowie deren normative Referenzen und spricht sich für eine stärkere Berücksichtigung der Sprachlichkeit von Fachunterricht in der Lehrkräftebildung aus.

Schon seit jeher haben Protestbewegungen in den unterschiedlichsten Sprach- und Kulturräumen eine beträchtliche Anzahl von Liedern hervorgebracht, die gesellschaftliche, politische und ökonomische Missstände in Wort und Klang verarbeiten, kommentieren und kritisieren. Als Teil eines 'kulturpolitischen Gegenprogramms' tragen solche Lieder in der Funktion von Instrumenten radikaler Propaganda oder subtiler Sozialkritik dazu bei, ungehörte Stimmen hörbar zu machen und kollektive Identitäten von Minderheiten zu stärken. Die Beiträge von Literaturwissenschaftlerinnen und Literaturwissenschaftlern sowie von Linguisten aus der Germanistik, der Anglistik und Amerikanistik, der Romanistik und der Japanologie arbeiten heraus, welche lyrischen, musikalischen und performativen Strategien in politischen Liedern und ihren spezifischen historischen und kulturellen Kontexten zum Einsatz kommen und welchen Einfluss diese Strategien auf das Wirkungs- und Funktionspotential der Lieder haben. Durch diese Kultur- und Sprachräume übergreifende Perspektive wird einerseits der Kulturspezifik politisch motivierter Textmusik Rechnung getragen und andererseits deutlich gemacht, dass die gesungene Artikulation von Protest und Widerstand in der Tat ein kulturübergreifendes Phänomen ist.
