    • Bloch, together with Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc, participated in one of the most significant art shows of the twentieth century, the Blue Rider exhibit of Munich in 1911–1913,. Later, he exhibited with Paul Klee. In 1923, Bloch was invited to become professor of art and art history at the University of Kansas. At this university his successful student and successor as a faculty member at KU was the Kansas landscape artist Robert Sudlow.
