Arrhenius equation and non-equilibrium kinetics

The Arrhenius equation describing the temperature-dependence of the rate coefficient of a chemical reaction had its 100th anniversary in 1989. Starting with historical aspects, Stiller (Central Institute of Isotope and Radiation Research, Academy of Sciences of the GDR) surveys current use in the framework of an equilibrium kinetics, followed by an extended Arrhenius law for two-temperature systems and by a non-Arrhenius kinetics of reacting systems for non-equilibrium situations.
