Tibetan proverbs and sayings (gtam-dpe) are a rich source of often ironically and wittily formulated natural wisdom. Some of the sayings come from Tibet’s pre-Buddhistic times, and others were transmitted from Buddhist thought and teachings. Most of them mirror the world and experience of the Tibetan folk.
