At the start of the new millennium, fuzzy logic presents a fresh perspective in information processing, inspired by its founder, Lotfi Zadeh. This approach aims to create 'soft' tools for computing with human perceptions, which are characterized by their ability to generalize, recognize patterns, and capture the essence of various phenomena. However, this capacity is accompanied by an intrinsic imprecision in perception-based information. Zadeh argues that this imprecision prevents such information from being accurately represented using precise methods like predicate logic, which limits the effectiveness of existing scientific theories in handling perception-based data.
