Relatively few French architects have successfully secured a position for themselves in international architecture, yet Bernard Reichen and Philippe Robert have realised projects in Greece, in Australia, in the USA, in Qatar since they founded their office in 1973. They have made a name for themselves with their conversions of 19th century buildings such as the Grande Halle de la Villette, and the Pavillon de l´Arsenal in Paris, and increasingly issues deriving from urban development and landscape planning are featuring in their work. This book opens with an interview of Bernard Reichen and Philippe Robert which reveals their approach to architecture and urban design. In the main part of the book some 80 buildings and projects are presented and documented, including the development of the plans of one of the sites of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the headquaters of Nestle France in a former chocolate factory.
